Short & Sweet sessions are only available on weekdays, but the time of day is up to you!
For golden hour lighting, we'll typically be looking at starting 45 minutes from sunset at Highland Park.
For studio sessions, the timing is much more flexible - but the best window is usually 2 hours after sunrise - 2 hours before sunset.

Short & Sweet sessions are designed to be simple and efficient. Theyβre perfect for families who want updated photos without a long time commitment, and theyβre more budget friendly. These sessions move at an easy but intentional pace, focusing on a handful of natural moments and connections.
Theyβre ideal for:
quick seasonal updates
younger kids with short attention spans
families who want a low-key experience, or who donβt need a lot of variety
Think of Short & Sweet sessions as a small but meaningful snapshot of this moment in time!
If you prefer more time, a weekend date, location flexibility, or a full gallery, Iβd suggest a full Family session.

Small (βminiβ) sessions are offered on specific dates at a set location and are often styled or themed (such as holiday sessions or special floral installations in-studio). Because theyβre scheduled back-to-back, they move at a more structured pace.
At a glance:
Short & Sweet β weekday-only, individually scheduled, limited location options, 30 minute session length, 30 image gallery included
Small (βminiβ) β set dates & location, usually styled or themed, limited availability, slightly shorter session, smaller included gallery with upgrade options
Both sessions are designed intentionally, the differences are in scheduling, flexibility, styling, and how much structure you prefer.

Iβm always surprised and inspired by what my clients come up with! Truly, wear what feels like you. If youβre comfortable and confident, it will show. These sessions are about documenting connection, not perfection, and hopefully that notion brings you some peace.
That said, here are a few things that usually work beautifully on camera:
Solids and neutrals
A mix of textures, a variety of patterns/scale of patterns
Punchy colors that add life
Natural, soft fabrics, dresses with movement
And a few things to skip if possible:
Clothing with big logos, text, or busy graphics
Lots and lots of black - I feel the urge to dress myself like an Addams family member every single day, but too much black can suck the light and detail out of your outfits
Matchy-matchy outfits β coordinating tones always look more natural and intentional
If you think you need more help with styling, I totally get it- I HIGHLY suggest connecting with local stylist Vivien Reed, she is incredible.
