Your family. Your joy. Your history.

We’ve all heard the clichΓ©: the days are long but the years are short. You’ll be hard pressed to find a parent who doesn’t feel the intense pressure of time flying by. Approximately 3 minutes ago, and somehow also nearly 10 years ago, a nurse handed me my first baby. I can still feel the 8lbs, 0oz weight of his little, fuzzy body, even now as we share a shoe size and he can easily knock me down with a hug. Truly, time is a thief.

Luckily, there are photos. Vital, tangible proof that we have survived and even thrived through the newborn stages, and the toddler phases, and school years. Evidence of adorable gaps in wide smiles, train sets and board books and play kitchens now dusty or gone in garage sales. Proof of sleepovers, birthdays, unicorn-clothing-only phases, and stranger-danger shy streaks. I want to remember it all, and I want to help you to remember your life, too.

I reject the narrative that family photos need to be perfectly styled or that you need to wait: until you lose weight, until the weather is perfect, until you expertly coordinate expensive outfits, until your kids are comfortably out of the tantrum stages. You deserve to have your family documented beautifully now. You’re doing great! Perfect, actually. There is so much beauty in the chaos.

Family photography is a celebration of you.

Frequently asked

  • You can schedule as soon as you know you’d love to book a family session with me! Weekend dates during peak season (late Spring, Summer, and Fall) do tend to book up quickly.

You can find and book my current offerings here.

  • We'll work together on a session start time. For golden hour lighting, we'll typically be looking at starting about 90 minutes from sunset at our location, or a few minutes before sunrise.

That being said, I'm confident in any lighting scenario and to me, it’s just as important to be mindful of kid naps and moods as it is to consider the best light. So while midday isn't considered "ideal" for lighting, if it's best for your family we will plan our location accordingly!

  • Sessions can take place at your home, a location with meaning to you, or we can brainstorm something together. Maybe downtown is your vibe, or maybe you want to capture your Sunday morning market adventures. Maybe we head to an orchard to pick apples, or to the shore to let the kids sink their toes in the sand. Whatever you find meaningful, whatever brings out the happy for your family, I'm in!

You’re also welcome to choose my beautiful, bright, natural light studio in downtown Rochester - perfect for winter sessions, rainy days, and simple, emotive portraits all throughout the year.

  • I’m always surprised and inspired by what my clients come up with! Truly, wear what feels like you. If you’re comfortable and confident, it will show. These sessions are about documenting connection, not perfection, and hopefully that notion brings you some peace.

That said, here are a few things that usually work beautifully on camera:

    • Solids and neutrals

    • A mix of textures, a variety of patterns/scale of patterns

    • Punchy colors that add life

    • Natural, soft fabrics, dresses with movement

And a few things to skip if possible:

    • Clothing with big logos, text, or busy graphics

    • Lots and lots of black - I feel the urge to dress myself like an Addams family member every single day, but too much black can suck the light and detail out of your outfits

    • Matchy-matchy outfits β€” coordinating tones always look more natural and intentional

If you think you need more help with styling, I totally get it- I HIGHLY suggest connecting with local stylist Vivien Reed, she is incredible.

  • For a full family session or extended family session, you can expect to receive ~150 finished/edited photos from our time together, and galleries are delivered in 2-3 weeks.
